The Kane County Cougars are looking for a Marketing and Social Media Intern to join the team! The Marketing and Social Media Intern will support the management and growth of social media platforms by creating and posting engaging content, live-tweeting during games, and assisting with media day, game day, and event coverage. The intern will also support marketing efforts through texts, emails, and notifications, contribute creative content ideas, and interact professionally with athletes and fans while assisting with marketing initiatives and other assigned duties. This internship is slated to start in May 2026 and end in September 2026.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Help manage and grow all social media platforms.

  • Assist media team with media day and game day content, and outside events as needed.

  • Live tweet during games and assist with social media tasks.

  • Send out marketing texts/emails/notifications as needed.

  • Suggesting creative content ideas.

  • Ability to interact with athletes and fans in a professional matter.

  • Willing to contribute to marketing initiatives and other duties as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Full understanding of social media platforms and staying on top of trends. 

  • Positive attitude and team player.

  • Photography and photoshop experience preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism when interacting with others.

  • Knowledge of the Cougars social media presence and the image exuded to fans.

  • Willingness to work as a member of a marketing team.

  • Creativity and knowledge of pop culture, sports teams’ social media habits, photography, sponsorship baseball, and the Cougars’ fan base.

  • Hours will vary but will include evenings, weekends, holidays, game days, and non-game days if needed.

  • Work will be focused on game days. Our work environment is very physical, fast-paced and at times very stressful. The Marketing and Social Media Intern will be expected to be outside in the stadium and in the elements. The team typically plays rain or shine, cold or warm.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
