The Cleburne Railroaders are seeking motivated and skilled cooks to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking food items for concessions guests, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to food safety standards during events. The Concessions Cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to deliver an exceptional experience in our concession stands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to standardized recipes ensuring consistency and quality.

  •  Stock workstations with necessary supplies and equipment before events. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area throughout the shift.

  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.

  • Work closely with servers, and other kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and delivery, ensuring timely service.

  • Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies, reporting any shortages or discrepancies to the Kitchen Manager. Assist in ordering and receiving of food and supplies as required.

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a cooking or food preparation role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates with a strong interest in culinary arts.

  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

  • Must be able to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow procedures and take directions, work as a team player.

  • Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the team’s event schedule.

  • Frequent standing, bending, stooping, carrying, walking, sitting, and reaching. Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

  • Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders.

  • Repetitive motion with hands and wrists, including chopping, stirring, and plating.

  • Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy kitchen environments.

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate kitchen equipment safely.

  • Exposed to variable temperatures.
