REV Entertainment is seeking a hard-working and motivated attorney to support a fast-paced legal department. This role will play a key role in supporting the legal needs of a dynamic and growing sports and entertainment organization across a variety of business units. The Assistant Counsel’s primary focus will center on drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts related to sponsorship, licensing, event agreements, vendor agreements, and service agreements matters.  Other secondary responsibilities will center on supporting the legal department in other transactional matters related to Labor & Employment, Real Estate, Technology, Mergers & Acquisitions, Events and Corporate Governance.  The ideal candidate will have a strong transactional background, either in-house or within a law firm setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • Drafting, reviewing, structuring, and interpreting various complex commercial agreements, including sponsorship, event, vendor, and licensing agreements.

  • Assist with matters related to labor & employment, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and litigation management.

  • Serve as a primary legal contact for all teams and facilities that are owned and operated by the organization.

  • Support the organization and its subsidiaries and affiliates with respect to complex venue management and operations matters for large-scale events.

  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to manage pre-litigation claims, contractual disputes, and litigation.

  • Conduct legal research as necessary, and proactively stay abreast of developments in applicable municipal, state, and federal laws. 

  • Ensure that the working practices of the organization and its subsidiaries and affiliates are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Serve as a strategic legal advisor across departments, including Events, Sponsorships, Marketing, Operations, ensuring legal alignment with creative and commercial goals.

  • Work closely with Risk Management to identify, evaluate and minimize risks of the organization, including the use an acquisition of insurance coverages.

  • Promote continual development, optimization and implementation of contracts creation and legal review processes and standards to maximize efficiency. Drive continuous improvements in policies and processes, including document templates.

  • Work with outside counsel and other advisors as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Associate General Counsel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree and JD degree from an accredited ABA institution.

  • Admission to Texas Bar (or ability to gain admission).

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate law department, or similar experience required. Experience in sports, entertainment, media, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience with Monday.com, NetDocs or similar legal document system, ContractWorks, and Box preferred

  • Strong contract drafting, negotiating, and analytical skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships within and outside the organization while consistently adhering to high standards of ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professionalism.
