Position Summary
The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for the creation and implementation of detailed promotional and marketing programs for UBS Arena at Belmont Park, including venue events, branding, and communication platforms. This individual will oversee all functions of the Arena Marketing department related to the venue to reach budget goals and generate revenue for the facility, including the development and execution of marketing strategies designed to increase demand for arena sponsorships, premium inventory, general ticket sales & ancillary revenue. This position reports into the SVP, Marketing & Community Relations. 
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Create and execute detailed promotional and advertising plans to drive demand and generate quality leads for Arena sponsorships, premium inventory, and ticket sales. 
  • Create and execute marketing & advertising across UBS Arena channels, including social media, e-mail, and website.
  • Oversee all social media and digital marketing efforts for Arena through development and implementation of annual plan designed to grow venue database, social followers and event exposure while increasing engagement across all platforms 
  • Plan, negotiate and execute all paid media for Arena-related marketing campaigns
  • Create and execute marketing plans for events being promoted at the facility in conjunction with a promoter, or on behalf of the Arena. 
  • Create and approve media creative, order art, posters, and banners with official graphics, write and produce promotional videos, coordinate with legal on sensitive material and vendor contracts. 
  • Create and monitor a solid Arena media and public relations program, including the creation of media releases and the coordination of interviews and media requests for information 
  • Maintain relationships with media partners and ensuring fulfillment of contracts 
  • Own Arena marketing & PR agency relationships to deliver plans. 
  • Develop relationships with local convention & visitors bureau and city and county marketing teams to promote events and connect with local businesses.
  • Strategize, research and brainstorm new marketing trends and practices to apply to arena and arena shows designed to acquire and engage fans, build brand affinity and drive ticket sales 
  • Follow up with media outlets and artist management on additional marketing opportunities 
  • Determine department and marketing event budgets  
  • Collaborate with Arena Partnerships team to fulfill promotional partnerships with corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with New York Islanders and UBS Arena Premium ticket sales teams to ensure appropriate support via marketing activations
  • Provide regular reporting to SVP Marketing & Community Relations and UBS Arena senior leadership

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, business administration or similar.  Advance degree desirable but not required.
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of experience and increasing marketing responsibilities, preferably with a concert venue, sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility or other multi-purpose assembly facility.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing and advertising/sponsorship program development.
  • Advanced knowledge of brand identity, advertising, digital marketing and social media strategy and best practices
  • Advanced knowledge in sales team marketing support and direct lead generation strategies. 
  • Knowledge of Public Relations
  • Knowledge of the music industry and artist demographics
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail 
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills 
  • Experience working with and creating budgets 
  • Experience working with a promoter a plus 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects paying high attention to detail, proofreading, editing, and overseeing production design
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and foster relationships
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, graphic design, PowerPoint and Internet software
  • Proficiency with publishing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Proficiency with media buying, negotiating, facilitating and documenting promotional agreements
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required
