Overview
The VP of Venue Technology is a leadership role responsible for executing the organization's venue technology strategy to drive innovation, competitive advantage, and business growth. This position requires a leader with deep technical expertise, agile thinking capabilities, and the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives. The VP of Venue Technology will lead a team of technology professionals, collaborate with key stakeholders, and leverage emerging technologies to drive digital transformation and achieve organizational goals.
The VP of Venue Technology plays a critical role in shaping the organization's technology direction, driving innovation, and enabling business growth. This position requires a strategic thinker, visionary leader, and collaborative partner with a strong blend of technical expertise and business acumen.
This role pays an annual salary of $230,000 - $255,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
- Venue Technology Roadmap: Define and maintain a venue technology roadmap that outlines key initiatives, milestones, and timelines for implementing strategic technology initiatives. Ensure alignment with business priorities and market trends while achieving financial consistency.
- Global Development Technology: Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop standards for all venue technologies and with specific venue design teams focusing on technology infrastructure, converged networks, AV/IPTV/broadcast, security, digital displays (small and large format), collaboration systems, and sports/entertainment venue technology standards.
- Innovation Leadership: Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging venue technologies and trends that have the potential to impact the organization's competitive position and industry landscape. Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation within the technology team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand their technological needs and requirements. Develop strong relationships and partnerships to ensure technology initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
- Standards: Ensure all technology practices are adopted at the venue level and adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, including cybersecurity threats, data privacy concerns, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Talent Development: Build and develop a high-performing technology team capable of executing the technology strategy and driving innovation. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to develop technical and leadership skills.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and strategic partners. Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing to ensure optimal value and performance.
- Venue Design: Lead efforts leveraging developed technology roadmaps and standards to create efficient, cost effective, and repeatable high-level blueprints. Provide guidance and oversight through all stages of venue development and continual refinement of plans and options to meet business and contractual obligations
- Procurement: Participate in the request for proposal (RFP), vendor selection, and contracting process. Contribute to the development and delivery of all owner furnished/owner installed systems and equipment and the furniture, fixture, and equipment (FFE) program for venue construction projects.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of venue technology initiatives and investments. Monitor performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technology strategy, initiatives, and progress to executive leadership, board members, and other stakeholders. Build consensus and support for technology investments and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a track record of driving technology strategy and innovation.
- Deep understanding of technology trends, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic technology plans that align with business objectives and drive measurable results.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
