Overview
Provides overall administrative planning, direction, and policies to the venues to assure the highest quality of service to clients. The Events & Operations Manager has direct oversight of all events and operations and will provide overall leadership for staff and building partners.
This role pays an annual salary of $65,000-$80,000.

Responsibilities
- Plan, service, and supervise all operations, events, cleaning, and facility maintenance at the facility. This includes advancing shows with promoters and other event organizers.
- The events and operations manager is the primary liaison between users of the facility, show staff, and venue staff.
- Recruit, train, schedule, motivate, and evaluate department staff, correct deficiencies.
- Assist with the completion of pre-event financial estimates and post-event settlements.
- Oversee and assist in the preparation of the building to meet the requirements of upcoming events.
- Manage and review the work plan for operations, facility maintenance, event management, & cleaning; Identify and assign work activities, projects and programs; review and evaluate products, methods and procedures.
- Approve departmental employee schedule, payroll, and disciplinary actions
- Development of annual Operations & Capital expenditure budgets in relation to staffing, equipment, materials and supplies.
- Approve the ordering of materials, equipment, office, & janitorial supplies within budget & procedural guidelines.
- Develop & Administer all Complex Operations, Safety Plus, Crowd Management & Emergency Management programs with venue staff.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees, employees, municipal officers, City Engineering/Public works, vendors, patrons, etc
- Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Uphold all relevant federal, state and local building regulations including EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, NFPA, NEC and ADA regulations.
- Work in conjunction with General Manager to provide recommendations on new facility construction.
- Research and recommend continuing education programs for key technical personnel involved in the operation and maintenance of the building.
- Oversee / complete basic building maintenance.
- Snow removal around venue.
- This role will serve as the manager on duty for most events.
- During events, this individual will be responsible for any and all things that may come up during an event, including making sure TV screens are ready, ensuring the lobby and concessions areas are ready, ensuring audio/video is ready, connecting power, patching audio, setting up and taking down mobile sound systems for in house events, etc.
- This position is heavily dependent on your ability to work a flexible schedule, including long nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management etc.)
- Minimum of five years' experience in building maintenance, event planning, & building conversions.
- Prior Supervisory responsibilities.
- Possess superior interpersonal and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, handle multiple tasks at one time, meet deadlines.
- Must be self-motivated with strong leadership abilities and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Working knowledge of operational equipment including but not limited to forklift, pallet jacks, scrubbers, floor buffers, mechanical lifting devices, staging, retractable seating risers, basketball floors.
- Ability to follow written instruction.
- Working knowledge and principles of events, fire and public safety regulations as well as relevant federal, state and local regulations.
- Familiar with A/V equipment, electronic systems, & AutoCAD in relation to stadiums, arenas, convention centers or public assembly facilities.
- Forklift & Life Safety certification is necessary.
- Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays and extended number of days.
