Overview

The Team Sous Chef As a member of the Footprint Center Culinary Department, the Team Sous Chef is responsible for the preparation of team and coach meals during all the NBA season (Home Games Only)

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00

Responsibilities

  • The Team Sous Chef will be responsible for completing the meal preparation duties under the direction of the Executive Chef, and Executive Sous Chef
  • Experienced in all areas of meal preparation, including from scratch cooking; Previous restaurant experience and food service operations knowledge
  • Prepares ingredients for recipes, and follow recipes accurately and independently
  • Completes assigned menus in a timely manner following menu and meal times
  • Maintain an A grade level cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment
  • Utilize a FIFO-approach (including labeling, dating, rotating, and screening products to meet food safety and organizational standards.)
  • Assist in presenting and executing new recipes following food trends that adhere to dietary and nutrition needs of the team
  • Efficiently operates and maintains clean and orderly prep/cook station
  • Assists with receiving and organizing deliveries
  • Follow procedures for serving food, as well as rotating and storing food within coolers, freezers, dry storage, etc

Qualifications

  • Culinary Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to work 10-12 hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience as sous chef or head chef
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe preferred
