Settlement Accountant | Full-Time | Snapdragon Stadium
Overview
The Settlement Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of ticketed events and non-ticketed events, including SDSU football, MLS and NWSL soccer, concerts and special events, from pre-event budgeting through post-event settlement, journal entries and general ledger reconciliation. This role works cross-functionally with box office, event management, operations, booking and finance to ensure accurate and timely settlement of events. This role will play a key role in maximizing event profitability and supporting financial planning with clean, real-time data.
This role pays an annual salary of $75,000-$83,000

Responsibilities
- Responsible for all event settlements within timelines, working with systems and the stadium team to gather all revenue and expense details in real time for all events.
- Ensure that settlements are completed accurately and efficiently in timely fashion.
- Prepare post-event flash reports within 24 hours summarizing performance against expectations.
- Record and reconcile revenue streams including ticketing, License Fees, F&B, parking merchandise, and other ancillary income streams.
- Support the rolling forecast process with updated event P&Ls.
- Compare post-show/event actuals to pre-show/event budgets and annual budgets.
- Reconcile event-related accounts to the general ledger.
- Ensure all journal entries related to event settlements, accruals, and reclasses are accurately prepared and posted.
- Track and reconcile prepaid and deferred revenue accounts related to events.
- Assist with reconciling ticketing reports to system entries and bank deposits.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for monthly close review and audit support.
- Prepare and post weekly Ticket sales journal entries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with major coursework in accounting or finance or related field.
- Two to three (2-3) years of increasingly responsible experience in finance preferably in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility setting.
- Proficient in financial systems (Net Suite preferred).
- Experience with Event License Agreements preferred.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Meticulous and detailed-oriented.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
- Ability to work nights, weekends or holidays as needed.
- Effectively work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
