Overview
The Server is responsible for providing guests with ultimate hospitality in the venue dining areas at catering functions. Catering Waitstaff must be personable and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.
The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $16.66 and is tip eligible

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Must demonstrate ability to read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders when setting up events.
- Responsible setting up banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware.
- Responsible for serving meals to guests or replenishing food to the buffet line.
- Responsible for serving beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able to carry meals on a tray.
- Must be able to set up and maintain both food and beverage stations consistent with OVG standards.
- Responsible for observing guests to respond to any additional requests and determining when the meal has been completed.
- Responsible for clearing any dishes, glassware and silverware guests may be done with.
- Responsible for refilling salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, condiments, and napkins.
- Responsible for replacing tableware and linens as necessary.
- Participate in both set up and clean up of events.
- Must be able to work individually and with a team.
- Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas to provide a safe and clean work environment.
- Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent, punctual attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or OVG management staff for the successful outcome of an event or customer service situation.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to handle and move objects.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects up to 30 lbs. and 15 lbs. often.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be detail oriented to ensure that work is accurate and complete.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
