Overview
The Senior Event/Operations Manager reports to the Director of Facilities and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration, planning, budgeting, and management of the Center’s operational and event functions. This role provides leadership across multiple departments including event conversions, custodial operations, and equipment inventory control. The Senior Event/Operations Manager ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations through strategic budget management and proactive operational oversight. In addition to operational duties, this role is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, coordination, and training of the Event Managers to ensure consistent service delivery and operational excellence across all events. The Senior Event/Operations Manager is expected to lead and directly manage high-profile and complex events, ensuring all logistical, safety, and customer service standards are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of facility operations, including budgeting and procurement, as well as supervising systems such as setup labor, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, custodial, and grounds. The Senior Event/Operations Manager is also responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all guests, clients, and staff.
This role pays an annual salary of $70,000-$73,000

Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Facilities in overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the facility, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Supervise and provide leadership to Building Supervisors, Labor Foreman, and Event Managers; oversee scheduling, task delegation, and performance management.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate event changeovers and facility operations; assign and monitor staff tasks and workflows to ensure timely, efficient execution of operational priorities.
- Lead the recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluation of event and operations staff; coach team members, address performance issues, and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
- Coordinate event-related staffing needs and labor allocation, including internal staff, labor, and temporary workers; accurately track and report labor hours to the Finance Team.
- Manage the planning and execution of high-profile events, ensuring all logistical, safety, and service elements meet or exceed expectations.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors on equipment rental, facility improvements, and special projects; promptly escalate issues to senior leadership as appropriate.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of the operations budget; monitor expenditures, forecast resource needs, and make adjustments as necessary to stay within budget parameters.
- Promote a culture of safety; ensure compliance with safety protocols, conduct monthly safety meetings, and enforce OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Procure supplies and materials for operations and maintenance in accordance with budgetary guidelines; maintain adequate inventory and proper storage of materials.
- Develop and manage comprehensive record-keeping systems for maintenance schedules, inventory tracking, and equipment logs.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years experience in an operations position in arena, convention center or public assembly facility with knowledge of set up/housekeeping and event coordination including progressive supervisory responsibility.
- 2+ years experience in a Supervisory Role of a department and staff.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management, etc.) preferred; High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills required; including excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended number of consecutive days
