Overview

Ensemble Arts Philadelphia is looking for a talented Production Cook. The Production Cook will be a part of the Culinary Kitchen Team and will assist with all kitchen prep.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $16.00 to $20.00

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors.
  • Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve issues.
  • Knowledge of Health Department food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the recipe index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met.
  • Maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service.
  • Answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership.
  • Properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met.
  • Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene always meet food safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience as a catering/restaurant prep cook or prep cook in a high-end, high-volume, fast-paced kitchen (or comparable).
  • Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors.
  • Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve issues.
  • Assist team with events when needed.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, carry up to 30 pounds/ stand for extended periods of time.
