Overview
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting the culinary team in delivering high-quality food for members, guests, tournaments, banquets, and special events. This position plays a key role in supporting kitchen operations by completing food preparation tasks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and following all food safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.
This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 and is tip eligible.
This is a seasonal role from July 10, 2026 and will end on July 11, 2026.
This position will remain open until July 11, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, measuring, and portioning food items.
- Assist chefs and cooks with meal preparation and cooking tasks as directed.
- Prepare food for daily clubhouse dining, golf tournaments, banquets, weddings, and private events.
- Stock and organize kitchen stations with ingredients and supplies.
- Label, date, and properly store food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing deliveries.
- Restock ingredients and supplies throughout service as needed.
- Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment and kitchen tools.
- Support opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a prep cook, cook, or in a food service environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Food Handler or ServSafe Certification preferred (or ability to obtain if required).
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to maintaining high food quality and safety standards.
