Overview

The primary focus of the intern hired for this position shall be historical research on past theatrical performances and milestones.

 

Additional Internship Goals

  • Utilizing research and data organization skills, establishing a database of historical performances
  • Supporting current range of events from operational support, documentation, and project management
  • Work with additional support teams to understand dynamics of marketing, ticketing, and local outreach in support of local community theatre program development.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $12.00

 

This position will remain open until Sept 28, 2025.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

The primary focus of the intern hired for this position shall be historical research on past theatrical performances and milestones. Theatrical information gathering and cataloging, in addition to Theatre Management. The benefits to the intern are both exciting and educational and include further development of research and reporting processes; in addition, this intern will learn about event management; helping to present outstanding performances at the historic Lexington Opera House.

 

This position serves as assistant to the Theatre Manager at the Lexington Opera House. A successful Intern should be able to handle a wide range of projects and should be willing to commit at least 12, and up to 24 hours per week, but with a flexible schedule.

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Theatrical Research – collect, catalog and inventory past performances
  • Production Assistance – strong creative and operational skills
  • Event Assistance – assist with programs, projects, events and duties as assigned
  • Additional event related work – create and assemble materials, record keeping and analysis

Hours/Schedule:

Expectation for internship hours of 12-24 hours per week, flexible to have normal business hours, in addition to potential of some event related work evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Student in Theatre/Performing Arts
  • Detail oriented and focused, needs to be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
