Overview

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Pastry Chef de Partie with at least 5 years of professional experience to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in classic and contemporary pastry techniques and is passionate about creating high-quality desserts and baked goods. This role requires creativity, precision, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position will report directly to the Executive Chef of Pastry.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $25.84-$31.00 (per CBA). 

 

Benefits are per the union agreement. 

 

This position will remain open until September 1, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to recipes and standards
  • Develop new dessert concepts in collaboration with the pastry chef or executive chef
  • Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients with precision
  • Decorate and plate desserts for service, maintaining presentation standards
  • Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and proper storage at all times
  • Assist with Monitoring inventory levels and assist in ordering pastry supplies
  • Maintain equipment and tools in proper working condition
  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff as needed as directed by Executive Chef of Pastry
  • The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event driven schedule including nights and weekends per business need

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a pastry cook or in a similar pastry/baking role
  • Deep knowledge of pastry techniques, including laminated doughs, mousses, custards, and tempering chocolate
  • Strong eye for detail and artistic presentation
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
  • Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Possess valid SNHD food handling card

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary or pastry school certification
  • Experience in high-end restaurants, hotels, or patisseries
  • Familiarity with dietary accommodations (gluten-free, vegan, etc.)
