Overview

The Parking Manager oversees all parking operations at the Ford Idaho Center on event days, including staff scheduling and supervision, guest service, revenue and payment procedures, and traffic management. The position requires strong decision-making and leadership skills to ensure safe, efficient, and professional parking operations. The position is primarily event-based and may require a few additional hours outside of event days for scheduling, staffing, and event preparation.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $17.00 - $18.00

Responsibilities

  • Manage, schedule, and assign parking staff based on event needs and attendance.
  • Prepare parking areas before events, including signage, cones, phones, and card readers.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings covering assignments, procedures, safety, and customer service expectations.
  • Coordinate staff positions and adjust assignments on demand based on traffic flow, crowd levels, and operational needs.
  • Address performance issues and communicate concerns to management.
  • Oversee cash handling and electronic payment processing.
  • Set up and monitor card readers and mobile payment systems.
  • Sell and collect parking fees, accurately process cash and card payments, provide correct change, and complete all required transaction reporting.
  • Greet and direct customers entering parking lots.
  • Provide event and parking information to the public.
  • Deliver a friendly, professional guest experience and resolve issues as needed.
  • Identify and resolve or prevent parking issues.
  • Communicate and coordinate with parking, guest services, and security staff.
  • Monitor lot during events and immediately contacting Security Manager as issues arise
  • Report to the Security Manager for any other duties asked to perform for each event.
  • Manage post-event traffic flow and lot exit operations.
  • Oversee breakdown and secure storage of equipment after events.
  • Return all collected funds, phones, card readers, and other assigned equipment to the appropriate manager at the end of each event.

Qualifications

  • Previous management, event operations, parking, hospitality, security, or customer service experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience handling cash and electronic payments, with strong attention to accuracy, accountability, and proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Strong management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Comfortable handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, mobile devices, and basic technology.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during high-volume events and challenging situations.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an event operations team.
  • Must be able to follow venue policies, safety procedures, and event-specific instructions.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, due to high-volume concerts, sporting events, and other events at the Ford Idaho Center.
  • Must be comfortable working outside in various weather conditions, including hot, cold, rain, wind, and snow.
