Overview

Under supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Painter will use color theory principles to match shades, follow written and verbal instructions, and use a variety of tools to paint surfaces. In this role you will complete minor repairs and select correct paints and primers

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $18 to $20.

Responsibilities

  • Select the correct tools and paints for individual project assignments.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting.
  • Mix and apply paints, varnishes and sealants in a way that creates a lasting finish.
  • Cover exposed objects and surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Use fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks.
  • Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program, and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed.
  • Respond to routine, precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
  • Maintains walls (interior and exterior) of entire complex including all drywall repairs, sanding, and repainting.
  • Maintain inventory of paint and supplies.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting 15-50 pounds, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises, extensive walking through the building.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of basic construction knowledge.
  • Experience prepping and painting residential or commercial spaces.
  • Ability to tape and float is preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and other related materials.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Experience in stadiums, arenas, and/or convention centers is preferred.
