Overview
The Maître D serves as the face of the restaurant, creating an exceptional first and last impression for members, guests, and VIP patrons. This position is responsible for overseeing the guest arrival experience, managing reservations and seating, coordinating dining room flow, and ensuring the highest level of personalized hospitality. Working closely with restaurant leadership, the Maître D' anticipates guest needs, recognizes member preferences, and ensures every dining experience reflects the venue's standards of excellence.
This role pays an hourly rate of $24.00 - $26.00.

Responsibilities
- Welcome members, guests, VIPs, and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and personalized service.
- Manage the reservation system, guest seating, and dining room flow to maximize efficiency while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
- Escort guests to their tables and introduce them to their server when appropriate.
- Build relationships with regular guests by recognizing preferences, special occasions, and dining history.
- Handle guest requests, concerns, and special accommodations with professionalism and discretion.
- Ensure every guest receives attentive and personalized service throughout their visit.
- Coordinate seating assignments to balance server sections and optimize table turnover without compromising service quality.
- Maintain continuous communication with managers, servers, bartenders, and culinary staff regarding table status and guest needs.
- Monitor dining room activity to ensure service standards are consistently met.
- Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and readiness of the dining room before, during, and after service.
- Manage reservations using the restaurant reservation platform.
- Maintain accurate guest profiles, notes, and special requests.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to reservation inquiries professionally.
- Coordinate large parties, private dining reservations, and VIP experiences with restaurant management.
- Confirm reservations and communicate any special arrangements to the appropriate teams.
- Provide guidance and support to hosts and hostesses during service.
- Assist with training front-of-house team members on hospitality standards and guest engagement.
- Collaborate with restaurant leadership to continuously improve service standards and guest satisfaction.
- Lead by example through professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional hospitality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance, reception area, and host stand.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and workplace standards.
- Support special events, wine dinners, private functions, and member-exclusive experiences as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, private clubs, hotels, or upscale restaurants.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in front-of-house operations preferred.
- Experience with reservation management systems such as OpenTable, SevenRooms, Resy, or similar platforms preferred.
- Exceptional guest service and hospitality skills.
- Professional appearance and polished communication style.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with members and guests.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and luxury service standards.
- Proficiency with reservation software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
