Overview

The Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of skilled and unskilled activities involved in the operation and maintenance of the facility’s general operations.  

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $22 to $24.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and make repairs to the venue as assigned.  
  • Complete work orders in a well-established preventative maintenance system for the facility and all equipment. 
  • Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner. 
  • Maintain walls (interior and exterior) of entire complex including all drywall repairs, sanding, and repainting. 
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment. 
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, holidays, extended (long) workdays for an extended number of days as needed. 
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting 50+ pounds, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises, extensive walking through the building. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and one (1) year full-time experience at a facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • Knowledge of and ability to use power tools and hand tools.   
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.  
  • Understand the methods, principles and practices required for the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical systems.   
  • Familiar with maintenance operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility is preferred.  
  • Understanding of door hardware, locks, key machine, door closers, etc. 
  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and other related materials. 
  • Ability to follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management and emergency procedures. 
  • Ability to operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment. 
  • Ability to operate monitoring controls and a personal computer (light use) using 24/7 Work Order System Windows and Microsoft Office software E-mail. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. 
  • Experience in stadiums, arenas, and/or convention centers is preferred.  

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required 
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions  
  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
