Overview
TD Coliseum is looking to add a Maintenance Technician to join our team. They will be a part of the IUOE 772 Union comprised of Maintenance, Electricians, and Arena Attendant members. They will be reporting to the Operations Manager.
This role pays an hourly rate of $39.42 (per CBA).
Benefits as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until August 7, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance, operations, and repairs.
- Repairs include HVAC, mechanical and plumbing equipment, refrigeration equipment systems, cooling towers, boilers, water pumps, and building control systems.
- Participate in the delivery of events.
- Coordinate arrangements within the operations department, contractors, and clients.
- Monitor and/or direct the work of contractors on building projects.
- Participate in work planning for facility maintenance and operations.
- Identify and resolve problems and monitor work flow.
- Review and evaluate work projects, methods, and procedures.
- Track work and complete work orders as assigned.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-4+ years experience in building maintenance; experience in plumbing, building repair and carpentry work, with some knowledge of electrical systems, strongly preferred
- Experience in a convention center, sports & entertainment, or hospitality industry strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Must be certified (or willing to be certified) to operate a forklift.
- Specialized training/experience in the repair and maintenance of building HVAC and related systems preferred.
- Must have experience with oxy/acetylene torches.
- Must be able to solder copper for plumbing repairs.
- Must have experience with woodshop power tools, e.g., table saw, miter saw, drill press, sanders, saws, etc., and various hand tools.
- Ability to repair doors, hinges, and locks is a must.
- Knowledge of Fire Control Panels and wet and dry systems would be an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders is required.
- Must be able to be fitted for respirator equipment.
- Must have significant experience with power and hand tools.
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
- Required to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Must be available to work varied shifts as necessary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
