Overview

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items while maintaining food quality, consistency, and safety standards at The Truth Music Venue. This position works as part of the culinary team to support food service during concerts, private events, and daily operations. The Line Cook helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00-$20.00

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Set up and stock assigned workstations before each shift.
  • Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and storage procedures.
  • Assist with food prep, portioning, and ingredient preparation as needed.
  • Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized throughout each shift.
  • Restock supplies and notify supervisors of inventory needs.
  • Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure efficient service during events.
  • Follow instructions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
  • Assist with cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift.
  • Promote a safe and positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a commercial kitchen preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices; ServSafe certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes and written or verbal instructions.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift heavy objects.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
