Overview
The Lead Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Lead Bartenders are responsible for overseeing bar procedures and ensuring all staff are following alcohol service protocols. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is knowledgeable about a variety of beverages, and is passionate about creating a fun and memorable experience for every guest. Your ability to balance speed, service, and professionalism will help elevate the overall fan experience during every event. This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00 and is tip eligible.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Oversee all bar procedures during events to ensure proper service flow and professionalism.
- Follow and enforce health code standards.
- Reporting any incidents or issues to Supervisors or Managers when they arise.
- Coaching staff, when needed, on alcohol compliance, bar procedures, speed of service, and guest interactions.
- Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
- Takes and/or processes orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes; and practices prudent portion control.
- Set up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, ice, and produce.
- Maintains stock, prepares, and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality. Request additional product or restock as needed.
- Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner.
- Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained, escalating to management or security when needed.
- Lock up and store all beverage products, food, and equipment items and perform all closing duties at the end of the shift.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keep work area clean and organized.
- Communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
- Operate POS systems as needed.
- Other duties as necessary, as directed by the assigned location Supervisors and Managers.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience bartending in a high-volume environment.
- Bartending school preferred.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate and alcohol service certificate prior to working at Benchmark International Arena
- Ability to accurately handle register and revenue collections through a POS system is required.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Ability to meet the company standard of excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of liquor laws.
- Must have the ability to handle guest issues, deescalate them, and report to department supervisors and/or managers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have knowledge or ability to learn about various beers, wines & spirits available.
- Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
- Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The employee is frequently required to lift heavy objects.
