Overview

We are hiring an Junior Accountant to support the Finance team with daily financial operations. This role is well suited for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to gain experience and develop professionally within the entertainment and hospitality industries.

 

You’ll mainly work alongside the Accounting Manager to help maintain accurate financial records and support key processes that keep operations running smoothly. This role pays an annual salary of $52,000-$62,000 CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely alongside staff accountant during introductory period.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documents.
  • Maintain accuracy of coding and all general ledger transactions.
  • Preparation of bank payments and transfers.
  • Perform daily cash activities within Archtics ticketing system.
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheets in Excel for tracking of P&L, Budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall goals of the finance team.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • 1–3 years experience in a finance, accounting, or admin support role.
  • Experience in venue management, events, hospitality, entertainment, or tourism environments an asset.
  • Exposure to high-volume transactional processing, including invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookups, Sum-ifs, Pivot Tables, etc.) is a strongly valued asset.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with other employees and vendors.
  • Extremely organized, detail oriented, resourceful, and a quick learner.
