Overview
The Indirect Tax Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing/reviewing the Company filings/payments of all US and Canada indirect taxes, including sales and use, excise, and personal property taxes and ensuring overall compliance with requisite tax laws and regulations.
This role pays an annual salary of $81,500-$106,000 and is bonus eligible

Responsibilities
- Preparation or review of US and Canada indirect tax filings and payments including sales and use, excise, and personal property
- Develop, create and improve indirect tax compliance workpaper processes and procedures with a goal of streamlining, automating and standardizing these monthly tasks
- Support Hospitality Accounting Team related to taxability of products, tax rate updates and validation, jurisdiction registrations/de-registrations and tax notice resolution
- Serve as a primary liaison to third parties assisting with tax filings, licensing requirements and notice resolution
- Assist with sales tax and personal property tax audits through the pulling and providing of requested audit data by the requested due date
- Maintain tax accounts and reconciliations in coordination with Accounting teams
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in sales tax and personal property tax compliance and controversy
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Strong understanding of, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Tax research experience utilizing RIA Checkpoint/CCH
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Experience with Vertex, Avalara or other tax software- a plus
- Self-starter with ability to solve ambiguous and open-ended business challenge
