Overview
Ice Resurfacer Drivers are responsible for maintaining ice quality to NHL standards through scheduled resurfacing and other assigned ice maintenance, including but not limited to installation and deconstruction of the hockey ice surface.
This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00 - $25.87 (per CBA).
Benefits as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until December 11, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work
- Responsible for ice resurfacing, ice edging, and overall ice quality
- Perform various general maintenance functions for equipment, including blade changes, exercising adequate judgment to ensure completion of tasks as assigned
- Assist in maintaining, cleaning, and safety checking all machines and areas surrounding them as needed
- Monitor all refrigeration equipment, keep necessary records and logbooks on equipment, and inform the Ice Operations Manager if systems or equipment are malfunctioning
- Assist in cleaning up ice before and after events and set up the game day ice crew area
- Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines
- Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor
- Work independently and in a team environment
- All other tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
- 2 years’ experience operating ice resurfacing equipment in an ice rink setting is preferred
- Must be comfortable in front of large crowds and operating a resurfacer with an intermission rider
- Valid Driver’s License
- Previous experience with ice edgers and forklift equipment is preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to take both verbal and written direction
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects on a frequent basis
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with ice maintenance tasks.
