Overview
The Hockey Manager position requires a leader to develop both an innovative Youth Learn to Play Recreational League and Adult Hockey League at the Berger Foundation Iceplex. This role requires a hard-working detail-oriented individual that is exceptional at communicating across departments. This role reports to the VP GM of the Iceplex and manages Part Time Hockey Coaches and the Hockey Programs.
This role will pay an annual salary of $68,640 to $70,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
- Develop & supervises all Youth & Adult hockey leagues, and Youth & Adult learn to play programs.
- Create and implement youth hockey camps and clinics.
- Liaison to private Hockey tournaments.
- Collaborate with Figure Skating Director, Business Manager, and General Manager for scheduling Learn to Play, Youth Recreation League, Adult Leagues, and Skate Academy.
- Liaison between Youth travel teams and management.
- Oversee recruitment and training of hockey coaches and payroll.
- Management of part-time hockey coaches.
- Liaison between USA Hockey and management.
- Assist in building Iceplex youth and adult marketing database to support the programs of hockey and skating.
- Management and oversight of Iceplex’s hockey budget.
- Promoter of Iceplex branding.
- Performing various administrative duties to include hockey programing and scheduling.
- Responsible for coordinating and recording registration for hockey programs.
- Promote a culture of professionalism and respect while supporting hockey players in their development and success.
- Provide building support, as necessary as manager on duty.
Qualifications
Required Skills/ Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of hockey program management experience.
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience managing, leading, and developing a team.
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and efficiently – both written and oral.
- Knowledge of USA Hockey Programming.
- Strong sense of creativity and organization.
- Proficient in various platforms such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Extensive background and understanding of a Learn to Play and Youth Recreation Program.
- Proficient in rink operating systems – Daysmart prefered.
- Sense of ownership and pride, in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
- Team player with excellent time-management skills.
- Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be a clear communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.
- Full Coach Compliance (Including: USA Hockey Membership, Background check, SafeSport training, Liability Insurance)
Working Conditions:
- Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
- Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
