Overview

Under supervision by the Event Operations Manager, the Guest Services Supervisor will perform various duties in connection with scheduled events. Duties will vary between facility and events. This is a position that is usually scheduled to work after normal business hours.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.50

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an extension of the Event Manager during scheduled events
  • Supervising and coordinate placement of Guest Services Attendants during an assigned event
  • Works in conjunction with other Guest Services Supervisors
  • Serves as the first line for patron complaints and Guest Services Attendant concerns/issues
  • Serve as ticket taker and/or usher distributing programs and escorting patrons to their appropriate seats
  • Assist with last-minute pre-event needs, such as setting-up, decorating, finding materials, etc.
  • Provide special accommodations for wheelchairs and other physically challenged patrons, senior citizens, students and groups
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. 
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem-solving
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
  • Must be able to move around the facility and stand for extended periods during events
  • Comfortable working inside or outside of the building, as needed by events
  • Must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects and stoop as needed
