Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Food & Beverage Event Supervisor to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing catered events at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and supporting premium hospitality services at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Reporting to the Catering Manager and Food & Beverage Manager, you will help ensure events are delivered seamlessly while providing exceptional guest experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of British Columbia’s leading event destinations. From sold-out concerts and championship games to conventions, galas, and community celebrations, you'll play a key role in creating memorable experiences for thousands of guests each year.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$23.00 CAD

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food and beverage service during catered events, banquets, and premium hospitality functions.
  • Lead event setups and breakdowns, ensuring all spaces are prepared to company standards.
  • Supervise frontline staff and assist with training, inventory management, and special projects.
  • Ensure guests receive exceptional service by responding promptly to requests and addressing concerns professionally.
  • Serve food and beverages, including alcohol, while ensuring compliance with liquor regulations and responsible service practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards.
  • Support cash handling, POS transactions, and event reconciliation procedures.
  • Assist management in delivering successful events and day-to-day food and beverage operations.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of previous supervisory experience in a restaurant, catering, hospitality, or event environment.
  • Valid Food Safe certification is required.
  • Valid Serving It Right certification required.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards and guest relations.
  • Experience handling cash, POS systems, and inventory procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must have a positive, professional, and guest-focused approach.
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to exceptional attendance.
