Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure our convention center operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This role is ideal for a self-starter with strong hands-on maintenance experience—someone who takes ownership of their work, identifies and completes repairs proactively, and consistently meets deadlines. In our fast-paced, event-driven environment, your ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver timely results is essential to maintaining a positive guest experience.
This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00-$25.00

Responsibilities
- Perform general and preventative maintenance across all areas of the facility
- Identify repair needs and complete tasks without needing close supervision
- Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment (e.g. forklifts, scissor lifts, snow removal tools, floor scrubbers)
- Troubleshoot and assist with repairs of:
- Electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures
- Plumbing issues (sinks, toilets, urinals)
- HVAC equipment and mechanical systems
- Doors, windows, furniture, and general structural features
- Patch, paint, and repair walls and surfaces
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and before scheduled events
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all applicable safety regulations and procedures
- Collaborate with event and operations teams to meet tight deadlines
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ year experience in facilities maintenance, general labor, or construction
- Strong knowledge of hand and power tools (drills, saws, grinders, sanders, etc.)
- Understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines, especially in event preparation
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable with physical activity, including bending, lifting, twisting, and climbing ladders
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working in a large commercial or event facility
- Forklift or equipment certification a plus
