Overview
The Events Sales Assistant provides support and assistance to the Events Sales Director in coordinating catering sales efforts and event planning efforts. The job involves initiation and development of quality leads to ensure growth of catering sales. The primary responsibility of an Events Sales Assistant is to assist the Events Sales Director to develop existing business and solicit new catering business through catering lead generation and catering sales marketing. The Events Sales Assistant helps the team solicit new catering customers through traditional and non-traditional sales techniques. Other important duties include assisting in booking, selling, planning, and coordinating all special social events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high, and conducting catering sales presentations and catering sales calls also fall under the purview of an Events Sales Assistant job.
This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 - $19.00

Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating the logistics of events.
- Ensure timely and accurate event information.
- Detail the event for client approval and internal communication.
- Maintain communication with the events team to ensure a flawless event.
- Coordinate effectively with other departments, including Operations, Catering Sales, and Membership.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer proficiency: e-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
- Strong communication skills.
