Overview

Working co-operatively and collaboratively with all departments, Event Supervisors will provide oversight and Supervision of OVG guest services personnel. The Event Supervisor will coordinate all communication between the event and security staff, and all required departments during events, and be responsible for and ensure safe and enjoyable overall customer and lessee guest experience. There are times that it may be required to work extensive hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.50

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all fan services needs and call for services
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and employees
  • Conduct team briefings and training sessions as assigned
  • Lead, direct and inspire all event and security team members
  • Conduct regular inspections of all assigned and deployed positions; ensuring the safety of all fans at all times
  • Write reports; ensuring accuracy of reported data and proper report presentation
  • Maintain secure environment throughout Tribute Communities Centre at all times
  • Act as ambassador for Oakview Group
  • Evaluate and document event team individual performances
  • Familiarity with the City of Oshawa and local attractions
  • Direct Fans with special needs/requests to Fan Services
  • Support all departments with fan related escalations as required
  • Adhere to all OVG service standards and policies, including Health and Safety
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Close attention to detail
  • Work with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Event Services and affiliated roles & responsibilities
  • Able to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules (including: nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Excellent customer service, client relations, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minimum two years experience in event related role is required
  • Customer Service specific training is an asset
  • Strong written and oral communication is vital
  • Candidate should demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills and be able to function in a multi-task environment
  • Must be accurate and detail oriented
  • Must be physically fit to perform all essential duties/requirements associated with this job
  • Strong knowledge of Alcohol Control Policies in event driven industry
  • Possess a valid Smart Serve Certification
  • Possession of valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset
