Overview

This Event Services Lead position will have the opportunity to learn and get a hands-on look at the planning and execution of various Mullins Center events. Will get insight on event staffing, event security, and event management for events including sporting events, concerts, & family shows.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.50

Responsibilities

  • Gets insight to all Event Service activities for events at the Mullins Center, including planning, set-up procedures, event staffing, security, and post event billing.  
  • Learn and ensure all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations, & emergency procedures are followed by working alongside the Event Manager.
  • Resolves problems in a timely manner; analyzes and gathers information and identifies alternative solutions quickly & effectively.
  • Participate in formulating and administrating company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives for the Guest Services department.
  • Prepare staffing estimates and complete settlement bills for accounting when necessary.
  • Assist with scheduling staff and ensuring events are staffed appropriately based on estimated attendance.
  • Assist with shift changes, payroll issues and scheduling questions.
  • Be present for majority of the Mullins Center events.

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate from a university program in venue management, event management, sport management, or related field.
  • Previous experience coordinating events/programs preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, and demonstrated written, verbal skills.
  • Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and be a team player.
  • Able to work various hours, including daytime office hours, holidays, evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient computer skills including Windows, Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
