Overview
Provide highly responsible assistance to staff, the public, and clients during events, ensuring order, decorum, and control over assigned areas. The Event Security is on an as-needed basis for events, providing security and safety support as required.
This role pays an hourly wage of $15.00

Responsibilities
- Assist with facility and event security to ensure a safe environment during events.
- Perform crowd management and control techniques; support police and fire rescue teams during emergency situations.
- Remain calm and respond effectively to emergency situations, including life-threatening incidents.
- Understand the organization and operation of the convention center and work in coordination with external agencies when necessary for event security.
- Maintain effective working relationships with event staff, clients, and visitors.
- Assist with general public safety duties, including theft deterrence and loss prevention.
- Conduct building, parking lot, and safety inspections as assigned by the manager.
- Monitor fire safety systems, surveillance equipment, and card access systems.
- Work security checkpoints and assist with traffic management as needed during events.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager, based on event needs.
Qualifications
- Experience in public facility security and safety programs, especially in event environments.
- Verifiable experience in large, service-oriented environments.
- Familiarity with Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to event security.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet use.
- Ability to read, speak, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Completion of coursework in law enforcement, public/business administration, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain or possess a valid Florida Security License.
- Ability to obtain or hold a current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- At least two years of experience in law enforcement or security services.
- Experience working in high-traffic public assembly venues (such as convention centers or event venues) is preferred.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed for events.
