Overview
The Event Management Intern will learn to coordinate and execute events to completion. This internship is a comprehensive, hands-on learning program designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. The selected candidate will gain real-world experience by applying academic concepts and theories to practical challenges in an event management industry setting, engage with various aspects of the sport/entertainment industry, and develop knowledge to deepen their understanding of industry trends, and expand their professional network.
We are seeking a creative, hard-working, dependable, resourceful, independent thinker who is greatly interested in working in Sports/Entertainment Marketing and has a desire to learn. The internship will consist of approximately 24+ hours a week with days and times varying depending on the event schedule.
This role pays an hourly rate of $10.00
This position will remain open until November 28, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Events Department in coordinating various types of events, including but not limited to, meetings, banquets, conferences, sports, concerts and graduations.
- Perform a variety of event day task as assigned by the Events Department.
- Interact with Crown Complex staff when working on various events.
- Learn the various aspects of event activities in order to field event related emails and phone calls.
- Attend various meetings that will be beneficial in completing tasks.
- Research special projects as suggested by management as a form of experiential learning.
- Other assignments that will support the intern and their learning experience.
Qualifications
- Must be a college student or graduate student
- Recommended for Sport Management, Management, or Hospitality Majors
- Financial compensation is available, but housing and transportation are the responsibility of the selected candidate
- Availability to work 24+ hours a week, including evenings and weekends
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing is required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to function and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must demonstrate a positive, professional and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
