Event Assistant | Part-Time | CURE Insurance Arena
Overview
The Event Assistant provides hands-on support for all events at CURE Insurance Arena. This position works closely with the Events team to assist with a variety of event-related responsibilities, including administrative tasks, scheduling, event setup and breakdown, guest services, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced event environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes and takes pride in helping create safe, organized, and memorable experiences for guests. Due to the nature of the event industry, this is a flexible, part-time position that requires availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules. The Event Assistant should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
This is a part-time position (not an internship). It is open to all applicants, though a background or studies in Sports Management, Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Marketing, or Communications is a plus. Current students and recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
This role will work 16-20 hours per week plus events as needed.
This role pays an hourly rate of $15.92.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the scheduling of part-time staff—from sending out availability surveys and sending confirmed schedules to placing staff on the “game day” staffing sheet.
- Work during events to assist and coordinate tasks during and after an event.
- Assist with the setup of the employee entrance door and sign in/out of all staff.
- Help in Guest Services during events to assist with guest questions.
- Distribute uniforms and equipment to staff.
- Assist the Events department with creating event one-sheeters, staff deployment sheets, event data sheets, etc.
- Assist with the arena lost & found program.
- Complete pre-event building inspection walks.
- Participate in weekly department meetings.
- Assist event managers coordinate various event activities, including VIP activations, sponsorship activations, etc.
- Help maintain organized files, handbooks, and staff logs.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Background or studies in Sports Management, Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Marketing, or Communications is a plus.
- Strong interest in the sports, entertainment, hospitality, and live events industry.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities during busy event days.
- Professional, positive, and guest-focused attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from the Events team.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn event-related software and systems.
- Previous customer service, hospitality, sports, or event experience is preferred but not required.
- Must have flexible part-time availability, schedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
- Ability to assist with event setup, breakdown, and other physical tasks as needed.
