Overview
The Equipment Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of equipment operations for the Reading Royals. This includes preparing and maintaining player and goalie equipment, managing inventory, overseeing laundry and locker room setup, coordinating travel logistics for gear, and ensuring a professional and organized team environment. The Equipment Manager plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in supporting the daily success and safety of the team.
This position pays an annual salary of $62,000-$70,000.

Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and manage all player and goalie equipment, including skates, sticks, helmets, pads, and uniforms.
Perform skate sharpening and other routine equipment maintenance as needed.
Oversee the setup, organization, and cleanliness of the locker room, benches, and equipment areas for practices and games.
Pack and transport equipment for all road games, ensuring timely and accurate setup at away venues.
Maintain accurate inventory of team-issued gear and order supplies in coordination with the Head Coach and General Manager.
Manage laundry operations for all player uniforms, practice gear, and towels.
Assist in coordinating with team vendors and suppliers for equipment needs.
Ensure compliance with ECHL equipment standards, safety protocols, and organizational policies.
Work closely with medical and training staff to ensure all equipment contributes to player safety and comfort.
Support team operations during practices, home games, and road trips, including pre-game and post-game duties.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with players, coaches, and support staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or General Manager.
Qualifications
Prior experience as an Equipment Manager or in a similar role at the professional, collegiate, or junior hockey level preferred.
Strong knowledge of hockey equipment maintenance, skate sharpening, and repair techniques.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and travel with the team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment.
Must be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
