Overview
The Concessions & Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of food and beverage stands, bars, and alcohol service areas throughout the Kentucky Exposition Center. This role ensures all service areas operate efficiently and in full compliance with state alcohol laws, health department regulations, and company standards. The Supervisor plays a key role in training and leading front-line staff, managing inventory levels, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards, and ensuring excellent guest service during events ranging from trade shows and concerts to sporting events and conventions. Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills are essential in this high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Must be available to work events as scheduled based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, late nights, and extended shifts.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $22.00-$23.00

Responsibilities
- Supervise the setup, operation, and breakdown of concession stands and bar areas
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and alcohol regulations
- Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service (e.g., checking IDs, TIPS compliance)
- Oversee staff during events, ensuring efficiency, professionalism, and guest satisfaction
- Train, coach, and support concessions and bar team members
- Maintain proper inventory levels and manage restocking before, during, and after events
- Perform accurate cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all F&B service areas
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, operations, and event management teams
- Assist with scheduling and staffing for concessions and bar locations
- Report equipment issues, supply shortages, or guest incidents promptly
- Enforce company policies and safety protocols at all times
- Support setup and execution of specialty bars or catered VIP activations when needed
- Provide on-the-floor leadership during high-volume events and troubleshoot as necessary
- Remain flexible and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedule
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in food & beverage, concessions, or bar supervision (event venue or high-volume setting preferred)
- Strong understanding of alcohol service laws and health/safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with cash handling and POS systems
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, late nights, and extended hours as required by event schedule
- TIPS certification or equivalent (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- ServSafe certification a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality training or coursework is a plus
