Overview

The Catering Sales Assistant provides support and assistance to the Catering Sales Manager and General Manager in coordinating catering sales efforts and event planning efforts. The Catering Sales Assistant also assists the Management Team with administrative paperwork. The primary responsibility of a catering sales assistant is to assist the Catering Sales Managerg to create Catering BEO's for Artists at the Performing Arts Center. The catering sales assistant also coordinates Concessions opening and closing times according to event needs. Other important duties include assisting in booking, selling, planning, and coordinating all special social events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high, conducting catering sales presentations and catering sales calls also falls under the purview of a catering sales assistant job. The position also requires purchasing specialty food and beverage items locally.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00-$16.00

Responsibilities

  • Planning menus
  • Keeping staff motivated to provide the highest standard of service
  • Meeting with suppliers and customers
  • Discussing contract requirements with customers
  • Weekly sales reports
  • Weekly Credit Card reports
  • Weekly Labor and Sales reports
  • Processing Purchase Orders
  • Receive and process payments for events in cash, check, or Credit Card

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred.
  • 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiar with menu planning.
  • Basic computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+.
  • Cash-handling abilities; basic math skills, including significant-number manipulation.
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
