Overview

The Busser plays a key role in supporting front-of-house operations within the convention center's food and beverage program, working in either the café or full-service restaurant. This position is responsible for maintaining clean and organized dining areas, assisting service staff, and ensuring guests receive an exceptional dining experience. The Busser works closely with servers, bartenders, baristas, and culinary team members to support efficient operations and create a welcoming environment for all guests.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00-$26.00.

Responsibilities

  • Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and efficiently throughout service in the café and/or restaurant.
  • Assist servers, bartenders, and baristas by delivering water, food items, condiments, and other guest requests as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, café seating areas, service stations, and guest-facing spaces.
  • Refill ice, glassware, silverware, napkins, condiments, and other supplies throughout shifts.
  • Transport dishes, glassware, and utensils to dishwashing areas.
  • Support both café and restaurant operations based on business needs and event schedules.
  • Assist with opening and closing side work duties.
  • Maintain clean floors, tables, chairs, and surrounding dining areas.
  • Support restaurant and café staff during busy service periods to ensure efficient operations.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist with banquet and special event setup or breakdown when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, food service, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based shifts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Ability to safely transport trays, dish racks, and service supplies.
