Overview
The Building Operator is an entry-level position in the field of building operations suited for students and recent graduates looking to pursue a career in the sports and entertainment industry. The right candidate will be expected to learn on the job and grow with the company.
This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00 CAD

Responsibilities
- Operate building systems and contribute to the overall operations of the venue.
- Work with external clients in the preparation and execution of events.
- Work alongside conversion crew during event set ups and tear downs.
- Operate and maintain ice resurfacing machines and perform regular ice maintenance.
- Assist with custodial duties to maintain building cleanliness.
- Change light bulbs, batteries, and perform minor repairs as necessary.
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all written policies, applicable government codes, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an arena or recreation facility is considered an asset, including training with the ORFA. Ice resurfacing training will be provided for the right candidate.
- A self-starter with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Excellent time management skills and an ongoing awareness of client satisfaction.
- Willingness to work regular evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, plus an understanding of the physical nature of the work.
- Experience with power tools is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs (physical nature of the job).
