Overview
The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business needs.
This is a Seasonal position for the month of May. LA County Fair is open May 7-31, 2026. Thursday-Sunday.
This is a seasonal role from April 6, 2026 and will end on May, 31 2026.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $17.27 and is tip eligible.
This position will remain open until May 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for serving guests hard liquor/ beer / wine in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in customer service, interacting with guests in a friendly and fast manner; ensuring guests complete satisfaction and exceeding their expectations.
- Bartenders should have extensive knowledge in all aspects of alcohol in order to sell and serve drinks in a professional manner that achieves Company service and quality standards.
- Acknowledge all guests, anticipate Guests needs, and respond promptly to guests.
- Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
- Entering and completing guests orders on a point-of-sale computer system; accepting credit card payment.
- Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to cut off alcohol to such individuals.
- Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
- Responsibly serves alcoholic beverages in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Responsible for completing an accurate opening and closing inventory of product.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding area throughout the day.
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work.
- Responsible for checking ID’S of guest prior to serving, making sure each guest is of age to purchase alcohol with a valid Id. Refusing to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age and have expired Id.
- Follow company’s guidelines for serving any alcoholic drink in appropriate cup size.
- Request additional product or restock product as required.
- Responsible to learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available, and be able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
- While performing the duties of this position, the team member is standing the entire shift.
Qualifications
- Two Year’s or more experience of full- service restaurant or bartender in a similar level of volume with a craft/classic cocktail program.
- Must have RBS Alcohol Certificate that is required by State Law.
- Must have CA. Food Handlers Certificate that is required by State Law.
- Take pride in personal appearance; reporting to work in neat and clean clothing; maintaining well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by Company policy.
- Must have knowledge of various beers, wines and spirits.
- Must have knowledge of mixing and garnishing alcoholic drinks.
- Must maintain excellent attendance.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time, work long hours if needed.
- Ability to work in a Team-Orientated environment.
