Overview
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso-based beverages, and other refreshments in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role supports the overall guest experience by delivering exceptional service, maintaining cleanliness and efficiency, and upholding OVG’s standards of hospitality.
This role pays an hourly rate of $15.50 to $16.00 and is tip eligible

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Must be willing and able to handle alcoholic beverages.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including counters, equipment, and storage areas.
- Restock supplies and ingredients throughout the shift to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and handle transactions using POS systems.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations and answer questions about menu items.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including inventory checks and cleaning.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during events and peak service times.
- Uphold OVG’s values of integrity, respect, and excellence in every interaction.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous barista or food service experience preferred, especially in high-volume environments.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling.
- Food Handler’s and Alcohol Certification (or willingness to obtain) may be required.
