Banquet Lead | Part-Time | Palm Beach County Convention Center
Overview
The Banquet Lead will set the standard for teamwork/productivity and provide leadership/direction for the assigned stand/event while working alongside their team. They must be personable and able to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. The Banquet Lead must maintain excellent attendance and follow/enforce all company grooming/uniform expectations. They must also ensure compliance with all food safety and alcohol service regulations, follow/enforce workplace safety expectations, and maintain related company standards. As directed, the Banquet Lead will oversee bar/stand/banquet setup/breakdown, monitor inventory levels throughout events, address guest service issues as needed, and complete end-of-day responsibilities, including cleaning and shift reports. This position requires the ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call/event-based schedule.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.00-$22.00.

Responsibilities
- Assists captains and supervisors in managing F&B functions, including banquets and buffets.
- Leads small teams of event staff, ensuring clear communication and smooth service execution under guidance from the captains and supervisors.
- Address any client and guest concerns or issues promptly, working alongside the captains & supervisors to resolve any problems.
- Reviews Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure that all details, such as food and beverage, seating, special requests, etc., are met.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to timelines, menu changes, and service instructions.
- Execute event set-up and breakdown to ensure readiness and organization with little to no supervision.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment across departments.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, initiative, and teamwork.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of equipment and service ware.
- Stock and maintain beverage stations and service areas.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and supervisors to ensure consistent guest satisfaction.
- Provide excellent service across various stations (e.g., coffee carts, buffets, concessions, plated meals).
- Ensure food is served promptly, at the correct temperature, and with attention to presentation.
- Pre-bus and bus tables during service as needed.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Respond promptly to guest needs and special requests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu items, bar offerings, and special features to assist guests confidently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call/event-based schedule.
- 1-2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume catering or restaurant environment with trainer or leadership experience.
- Must have a high school diploma, G.E.D.
- Must possess an active ServSafe Food Handlers Card and/or Alcohol Awareness Certification and other required compliance trainings.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
