Overview

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service during conventions, meetings, banquets, receptions, galas, and special events. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering outstanding guest service in a fast-paced event environment. The Banquet Bartender ensures compliance with responsible alcohol service practices, maintains a clean and organized work area, and contributes to the successful execution of all events.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 - $20.00.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages according to event specifications and company standards.
  • Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests during events.
  • Set up and break down banquet bars, including stocking products, glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
  • Verify guest age and monitor alcohol consumption in accordance with applicable laws and responsible beverage service guidelines.
  • Accurately operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions when applicable.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas throughout events.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to supervisors and barbacks.
  • Assist with inventory control and product accountability procedures.
  • Work closely with banquet captains, servers, culinary staff, and event leadership to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist with post-event cleanup and closing procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience in hospitality, catering, restaurants, hotels, convention centers, stadiums, arenas, or banquet operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems when required.
  • Alcohol service certification required or ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Food handler certification preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based hours.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in crowded and fast-paced event environments.
  • Ability to transport beverage products, ice, and supplies as needed.
