Overview

Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Director of Operations, the Audio Visual Coordinator position is responsible for the day-to-day management, scheduling, and operation of Canada Life Place’s digital signage network and related AV technology for all events. The role will manage digital content, display schedules, playlists, and content management systems throughout the venue, ensuring the appropriate content is displayed on the right screens at the right time for concerts, sporting events, Broadway productions, private events, and day-to-day venue operations.

 

The position will also provide graphic design and digital content production services as required. This may include providing creative services to internal departments, clients, sponsors, and event partners as a billable service. This role requires a highly organized, technically minded individual who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting issues, managing multiple priorities, and working in a fast-paced live entertainment environment.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $23.00 - $25.00 CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of Canada Life Place’s digital signage network and digital signage content management system, including creating, scheduling, and managing digital display loops and playlists throughout the venue.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain digital content across multiple screens and display zones, ensuring the correct content is displayed on the appropriate screens at the appropriate times.
  • Build event-specific signage schedules for concerts, sporting events, Broadway productions, family entertainment, private events, and other venue activities.
  • Coordinate digital signage content requirements and deadlines with Marketing, Operations, and Sales teams.
  • Monitor digital signage throughout the venue and troubleshoot content, scheduling, playback, software, media player, screen, and connectivity issues.
  • Make real-time content changes and updates as required, including during live events.
  • Maintain digital signage systems, templates, playlists, screen assignments, content libraries, and related documentation.
  • Ensure digital content is properly formatted for individual screen specifications, resolutions, aspect ratios, and file requirements.
  • Assist with identifying and implementing new opportunities to maximize the use and effectiveness of digital signage throughout Canada Life Place.
  • Conduct regular checks of digital displays, media players, related AV equipment, cables, and related technology to ensure equipment is operational and event ready.
  • Troubleshoot basic AV, connectivity, hardware, and playback issues and coordinate with external technology and AV vendors when specialized support is required.
  • Provide graphic design and content production support, including adapting existing creative to different digital signage sizes, resolutions, and formats and making basic edits to existing artwork and templates.
  • Provide graphic design services to internal departments, clients, sponsors, and event partners when appropriate, and track external design requests and completed work for potential billable services.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of processes and documentation for digital signage operations and troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with digital signage systems, content management platforms, or similar technology is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, trade school certification/diploma, or equivalent combination of experience is preferred.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable learning and managing new software systems and technology platforms.
  • Experience managing content, playlists, schedules, or displays across multiple digital screens.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar platforms, with the ability to produce professional, client-ready digital creative.
  • Understanding of digital file formats, screen resolutions, aspect ratios, and content specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple creative and technical requests while meeting deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure content is accurate, properly formatted, and scheduled correctly.
  • Flexible—must be available to work evenings, weekends, and event days as needed.
  • Hands-on, proactive problem solver who is comfortable troubleshooting issues independently.
  • Team player who is adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced live-event environment.
