Overview
As a key member of the operations management team, this Assistant Operations Manager position will oversee general repairs and maintenance of the facility as well as all overnight event/concert conversions. Working closely with the director of operations and the operations manager, the right candidate must be a motivated self-starter, knowledgeable with tools, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
This role pays an annual salary of $60,000-$75,000 CAD

Responsibilities
- When requested, assist with hiring, discipline, and terminations.
- Perform and delegate all building maintenance and general repairs.
- Working knowledge of operations equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, retractable seating risers, basketball floors, hockey glass, etc.
- Works closely with the Events Dept on all event logistics.
- Supervises/works with operations staff for non-event tasking.
- Maintain and clean all conversion equipment, tools, and storage areas.
- Maintains inventory of all maintenance supplies and advises when stock / product is required for ordering.
- Assist Director of Operations and Operations Manager with projects as requested.
- Act as the lead for all R&M and internal work order projects.
- Communicate “assigned task” status with the operations manager or director of operations.
- Other duties as assigned by the director of operations & operations manager.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience with event arena changeovers and the general functions of an event-based facility.
- High School Diploma or GED. Technical certifications and/or college degrees are a plus.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, with emphasis on working with and training “casual” staff.
- Possess a working knowledge of mechanical equipment throughout the building, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Highly skilled with hand tools and general repairs for, drywall, plumbing, tiling, ceiling tiles, painting, light bulb changes, etc.
- Must be able to work flexible and demanding schedules, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid forklift certification.
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.
