Overview
The Accounting Manager plans and manages all aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing and internal control functions for the management team by performing the following duties.This position is on-site at the Saenger Theatre. Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility required to support events, including mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. Must maintain regular attendance and a professional presence.
This role pays an annual salary of $50,000 - $55,000

Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end close process, including managing the percentage of completion files for ongoing projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance on financial decisions, utilizing your expertise to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
- Monitor the overall accounts receivable and accounts payable system including weekly billing, collection, invoicing and payment processing.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, prepare bank deposits, reconcile bank accounts.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, provide recommendation on corrections and adjusting journal entries and record journal entries upon approval.
- Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation. Assist with annual external auditing and tax activities.
- Perform account analysis to assist with ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Plays key role in monthly and quarterly close process.
- Communicate with multiple levels, including the senior levels in the organization and escalate issues to appropriate management.
- Complete event settlements, and event reconciliation.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to contribute to finance initiatives.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college/university with major course work in accounting, finance, or business administration or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Arena/Hotel/Convention Center accounting experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory responsibility preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle confidential information and be discreet.
- Proven ability to work well with all levels of management, problem solving skills and ability to mentor.
- Knowledge of NetSuite is preferred, or similar accounting software.
