Overview

The Accounting Manager plans and manages all aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing and internal control functions for the management team by performing the following duties.This position is on-site at the Saenger Theatre. Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility required to support events, including mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. Must maintain regular attendance and a professional presence.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $50,000 - $55,000

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end close process, including managing the percentage of completion files for ongoing projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance on financial decisions, utilizing your expertise to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor the overall accounts receivable and accounts payable system including weekly billing, collection, invoicing and payment processing.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, prepare bank deposits, reconcile bank accounts.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, provide recommendation on corrections and adjusting journal entries and record journal entries upon approval.
  • Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation. Assist with annual external auditing and tax activities.
  • Perform account analysis to assist with ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Plays key role in monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Communicate with multiple levels, including the senior levels in the organization and escalate issues to appropriate management.
  • Complete event settlements, and event reconciliation.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to contribute to finance initiatives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college/university with major course work in accounting, finance, or business administration or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Arena/Hotel/Convention Center accounting experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and be discreet.
  • Proven ability to work well with all levels of management, problem solving skills and ability to mentor.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite is preferred, or similar accounting software.
