Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and accounting of multiple accounting functions within the department, including responsibility for the month-end closing process at the Flint River Entertainment Complex. This position also has oversight responsibilities to enforce the application of all internal controls.
This role pays an annual salary of $60,00-$70,000

Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Finance with overseeing staff with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance Department.
- Ability to “step in” and perform any of the duties of a vacant position in Finance when necessary.
- Review and process credit card expense reports and receipts submitted by staff.
- Safeguard company assets through close monitoring of accounting procedures; conduct audits as needed.
- Assist Director of Finance as needed in generating accurate financial statements in a timely manner.
- Support the Director of Finance with month-end close responsibilities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and compiling financial documentation.
- Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with state and Federal law, and policies and procedures.
- Assist with monitoring compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
- Reviews all checks and deposits and reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
- Enters all A/R, including but not limited to box office receipts, sponsor invoices and receipts, Ticketmaster reports, and misc. deposits.
- Enters all A/P using Coupa Pay.
- Assist with show settlement, including payments to promoters; compile all post-show financial info to enter into GL; and prepare show income/loss reports.
- Responsible for bank reconciliations.
- Assists in preparation of client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of the client as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, public or business administration, or a related field required.
- 3-5 years of Arena/Convention Center accounting experience preferred.
- May require working beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event calendar.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work well with all levels of management.
- Prior supervisory responsibility preferred.
- High level of proficiency with computers and Microsoft applications, extensive experience in Excel preparing spreadsheets and reports.
- Knowledge of accounting software recommended (NetSuite and Coupa preferred).
- Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
