Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to assist in the daily operations of the parking department. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop management skills while supporting key accounting functions. The Accounting Assistant will work closely with senior managers to ensure accuracy in financial processes, help guide location managers, and maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards. You will also contribute to process improvements and help prepare reports for internal and external use.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $53,856 - $67,320

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and contribute to core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and tax compliance.
  • Support and manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant accounting standards in all financial processes and reporting.
  • Assist with the development of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to verify the accuracy of financial data and provide support on financial matters.
  • Monitor and assist in cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits, preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Implement and refine financial processes and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support the finance team and broader organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
