Overview

The Director of Booking for Oak View Group’s Arena Alliance shall report to both the President of Oak View Group’s Canadian Alliance and VP of OVG Stadium, Arena and Theatre Alliance

This position will work within the framework of the Canadian Alliance Network, our OVG 360 Canadian facilities (ie: London and others) and support and collaboration with our emerging “Owned and Operated” Hamilton Arena Project, delivering and servicing Arenas across Canada by way of content development, strategic promoter partnerships, innovative content control mechanisms, Alliance branding and will play a role in developing a unified Alliance community through information sharing and centralized data.

 

This role will pay a salary of $110,000 to $130,000.

Start date: Approximately May 1, 2024

Responsibilities

  • Service the marquee and prestigious network of Canadian Arena clients (Alliance, OVG 360 Venues and Owned & Operated) in Canada via accessibility, relationships and collaboration.
  • Develop new content opportunities with agents, promoters and other event organizers for Canadian Alliance clients
  • Align with various independent, non traditional and family show content providers
  • Generate unique opportunities for clients within Professional, Collegiate and other various sports properties
  • Correspond with clients regularly, lending booking and touring expertise and knowledge as needed
  • Develop additional revenue opportunities within OVG’s Canadian Alliance, OVG 360 Canadian Venues and Owned & Operated and business unit from Arena Alliance relationships across North America
  • Measure and communicate success based on tangible and intangible ROI, and proactively work with the Vice President of OVG’s Alliance on delivering reports to clients
  • Work with OVG Canada Toronto Commercial office on opportunities that integrate brand and sponsors with music and touring clients
  • Generate and execute content properties for venues including but not limited to special events, one off concerts, private events and fill dates
  • Dominate and drive industry relationships with entertainment industry agents, promoters, and managers in tandem with controlled content strategy
  • Diversify and enhance client booking calendars by way of strategic partnerships with event organizers around North America
  • In coordination with OVG Marketing team and Vice President, create a branding strategy behind the Canadian Alliance to showcase the network to the industry
  • Help venues brand themselves within the industry based on their defined goals and unique qualities
  • Develop a series of National calls that benefit clients in content knowledge, sharing and networking
  • Present unique and unparalleled networking opportunities for Canadian Alliance, OVG 360 Venues and Owned & Operated clients that are not being replicated by others
  • Create opportunities for artist development by generating fan experience initiatives in Canadian Alliance, OVG360 Canadian venues and OVG Owned & Operated Venue(s).
  • Communicate regularly with Arena, Theater, and Stadium Alliance team on artist initiatives and results
  • Work with individual Arenas on content strategy, industry marketing and branding initiatives, show pitches and concert data
  • Identify and generate mechanisms of communication with Alliance clients that allow for centralized and shared data including but not limited to ticket count databases, expense sharing, tech pack centralization, and avail systems
  • Correspond and support OVG360 and OVG Owned and Operated content team to create mutual wins or leverage the company’s greater network where needed
  • Entertain and connect with Canadian Alliance clients to develop and maintain relationships
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate studies in marketing, business, music business, sports business management, communications
  • 5+ years with demonstrated success working professionally with venue personnel, promoters, agents and/or managers in the Arena industry;
  • Direct experience with Arena booking, specifically with a strategic and aggressive attitude towards creating new business opportunities
  • Creative problem solving with the ability to quickly understand client business models and adapt to solutions
  • Demonstrated success analyzing business unit’s marketing and branding strategy
  • Strategic and critical thinker who is dynamic, forward thinking, analytical and extremely well organized
  • Highly driven self-started with ability to work as a team or independently on projects
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the ability manage long term projects as well as quick turnaround assignments
  • Focused, diligent and hard-working; ambitious and driven
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and storytelling skills with a strong attention to detail;
