Overview
OVG is seeking an individual to join the Global Conferences & Events team within the Global Communications, Marketing & Events (GCME) Group. This specialist team supports various sectors of the business, offering expertise in planning, organizing and executing events and features to enhance the development of the company and drive additional revenue through conference registrations.  You will collaborate across multiple teams and departments globally to create memorable and valuable experiences, both in-person and digitally.  Events include, but are not limited to, industry conferences, investor and client hospitality, owned and operated facility events, industry awards and honors, corporate meetings and retreats, board meetings, tradeshows, networking events, and experiential initiatives.  This individual will thrive under pressure, enjoy traveling, and have a passion for hospitality, event logistics, strategy and tactics.

This role will pay a wage of $94,000 to $125,000.

Responsibilities
  • Manage various aspects of event production, with focus on guest experience, registration and hospitality 
  • Assist with venue and vendor procurement, negotiations and contracts with a focus on diversity & inclusion and sustainability 
  • Assist with the annual strategy for events and conferences, including creative concepts, policies, schedule, assets and campaigns
  • Ideate on and assist with implementing methods to elevate the digital experience and sustainability of events
  • Manage VIP guest communication and special requests
  • Manage employee engagement events and gifting
  • Assist with management of budget for conferences and events
  • Manage financial settlements, invoicing and expenseS
  • Coordinate staffing requirements, schedules and briefings
  • Ensure insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations are adhered to and communicated properly, liaise with appropriate parties
  • Assist with post-event evaluation, surveys and reports for Finance and key stakeholders
  • Assist with development of sales tools for new business as it relates to Events and Conferences
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to report on and discuss ongoing owned projects; prepare and distribute follow up documents where applicable
  • Additional support as needed

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate and/or graduate studies in hospitality and event management, marketing, sports business management or relevant field
  • 8+ years of event management experience with demonstrated development, project management and execution skills, with understanding of/experience in one or more of the following or related industries: sports, venues, music, entertainment
  • Extensive knowledge managing vendors and partnering with internal business associates in supporting operative events
  • Experience leading a diversity of events, ranging in size and scope
  • Readiness and ability to travel, globally
  • Demonstrated awareness of event production best practices and trends, including knowledge of implementing creative digital event features
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention-to-detail, self-directed initiative, resourcefulness and drive for innovation
  • Exceptional time, resource management, and organizational skills
  • Operational project management skills and experience creating work plans, meeting agendas, budgets and other collaboration tools
  • Strong customer-orientation and proven reputation of collaborative work relationships
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interface and cultivate relationsips with all levels of executives, talent and partners
  • Ability to prioritize workload and act with appropriate urgency
